Welcome to Mrs. Terrill's 2020-2021 Pre-K webpage.  My name is Mrs. Angela Terrill and this is my 4th year at St. Charles Catholic School and my 9th year teaching.  Previously, I taught as an early childhood intervention specialist and as a teacher of children with autism.  I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education from The Ohio State University and my Masters degree in Early Childhood Education from The University of Findlay.  I also hold endorsements in reading and education of early handicapped.  I am an active parishioner at St. Charles Catholic Church and have previously taught and organized the early childhood program (3-4 year old Sunday school) and the PSR program for the parish.  This year I am taking courses to earn my Teacher of Visual Impairment license.

Early childhood is such a magical time and I take the responsibility of teaching children earnestly and it is my privilege to be apart of your child's education.  In Pre-K we follow the Ohio Early Learning Standards and the Diocese of Toledo religion standards.  Our Pre-K classroom is play-based, inquiry-based and developmentally appropriate.  In a play-based program, children choose activities based on their current interests.  Our classroom is broken up into centers, such as dramatic play, blocks, math/science, art/ writing, reading nook, and other areas.  We encourage the children to play, facilitating social skills along the way.  Toys, games and activities in each center are intentionally put their to target skills for all Pre-K learners and their differing levels.  Inquiry-based learning is more than asking a child what he or she wants to know.  It's about triggering curiosity.

I'm looking forward to meeting you and becoming a partner in your child's education this year.
