RELIGION CLASS POLICIES

As a Religion Teacher I am committed to bring the Gospel message of Jesus Christ to my students.

I will integrate this message with each student's daily life through my Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Grade Religion Curriculum, liturgy, sacrament celebrations and daily prayer in the classroom. I will do this so that each student can realize his or her potential for allowing the message of Jesus to make an everlasting impression on their life.

I will provide academic excellence in a caring and nurturing environment where every student can experience success.

Through our CARE program I want to help our students create a Catholic community where every student is respected and valued.

I will challenge our students to become stewards to God's people using their time and their talents within our school community, the community in which they live and the world at large to serve the people of God.

Classroom Rules / RESPECT & RESPONSIBILITY

*Nobody shall make fun of another person for what he/she does or says.

  1. Respect yourself, classmates, school administration, and school property.

  2. Enter and Exit the classroom quietly and in order.

  3. Take your seat and place assigned homework on top of desk.

  4. Come to class prepared and with all materials.

  5. Follow directions the first time they are given.

Any behavior that is disruptive to the class will be dealt with accordingly.

Homework Policy

Homework will be assigned as needed. Homework assignments will be posted in the classroom on a daily basis. Students will write the daily assignments in their assignment calendars each day.

Assignment calendars should be checked each night by a parent/guardian. This is an excellent way for parents/guardians and myself to communicate, along with phone calls, e-mails, and so forth.

Homework will cover work students were unable to finish in class, along with worksheets, projects, bookwork, and studying for quizzes and tests.

Homework is checked and graded. Therefore, it is to be complete, neatly done, and handed in on time. If missing homework is turned in after the due date, half credit will be given. Missing assignments will result in a zero. Copying another student's assignment is considered cheating and will result in a zero and a detention for all students involved.

Students are responsible for making up homework missed due to an absence. Handbook policy will be followed. Make up work is to be done promptly.
