Before & After School Child Care
St. Charles School provides 3 different Extended Day programs all located in the church basement. Director of the program is Mrs. Kathy Fleischman & Mrs. Kelcie Widmer. Please read each of the following programs to ensure you sign up and understand which program your child will be attending.
1) After School Extended Day Program (2:50pm-5:30pm)
The After School Extended Day Program serves the needs of students in PM Prek through fourth grade. The extended day program will be offered daily from school dismissal until 5:30 p.m. The teachers will walk from the church to the school to pick-up your children at dismissal time, walk them over to the church basement where your child will be provided time for self-directed activities, art and crafts, homework, and active group participation such as games in the gym or on the playground. A snack will also be provided daily at 3:30pm.

Dates of Operation
The program will be held from dismissal time until 5:30pm in the church basement. The program follows the St. Charles Catholic School calendar year. If school is closed for any reason the extended day program will also be closed.
Tuition
Tuition is to be paid every other Friday for the prior week. Fees must be paid or you risk being terminated from the program. An annual registration fee of $20 per child is to be paid at the time of registration. We cannot care for your child until the form is filled out and the fee is paid.
Payments can be paid online, cash or check. Checks are to be made payable to St. Charles. Payments can be handed to the extended day teachers, sent in their school folder in an envelope labeled “___ ___’s Extended Day Money” or dropped off in the school office.
Student Rates
$10 per child per day
*If arriving late for pickup (5:31pm or later), you will be terminated after the second offense. (Please contact us via ClassTag App or Email if you are held up because of traffic, weather, or family emergency.)
SNACKS
An after-school snack will be served each day at 3:30pm. If your child has certain dietary restrictions, please pack a snack daily labeled ‘Extended Day Snack.’

2) PreS/PreK Short Extended Day (10:45am-2:45pm)
This program is designed for those students attending AM Pre-kindergarten and AM Pre-school classes and needing to be at school until school dismissal time. (10:45am- 2:45pm on M, T, W, F & 10:15am-2:15pm on TH)

This program is designed for those students attending the AM PreKindergarten and the AM Preschool Programs.
This Program will be held from 10:45am to 2:45pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday & from 10:15am to 2:15pm on Thursdays in the St. Charles Church basement.
The program will follow the school calendar for days of operation. If the school is closed, the Extended Day Program will be closed. If the school is on a two-hour delay the program will operate from 11:45am – 2:45pm. If the school is on a three-hour delay the program will be cancelled but still operate for the K-4 children.
At the school dismissal time, the extended day teachers will walk the children over to the school to get on their bus or their designated car line.

Lunches MUST be packed. We have a refrigerator and microwave to help RE-heat items and keep lunches cold until lunch time.

3) PreS/PreK Long Extended Day (10:45am-5:30pm)
This program is designed for those students attending AM Pre-kindergarten and AM Pre-school classes and needing to be at school longer than the 3pm school dismissal time. Your children do not need to stay until 5:30, that is just the time we close but you are free to pick up before then. The teachers will walk from the church to the school to pick-up your children at the pre-k dismissal time, walk them over to the basement where your child will be provided time for self-directed activities, art and crafts and active group participation such as games on the playground. For pick up, you will ring the buzzer by the church doors and we will bring your child/children up to you.

PICKING UP YOUR CHILD:
You will park under the church awning, ring the buzzer and state your name and who you are picking up and then we will walk your child up to you. The church doors will be locked for security purposes and we have found it easier on families if we instruct your child to pick up and grab their things to go home. Many times in the past we have had students not wanting to listen to the parent when its time to go home, so by us helping with that transition it will make it easier on the parents/guardians.
SAFE SPACE POLICY
Our programs were designed to be a safe space for your children to come unwind from the school day. Here they get to socialize and play with children of all ages, as well as do crafts, play outside, and enjoy a snack. Due to having all different ages in the room, we have a zero-tolerance policy- meaning if your child is doing things that is causing an unsafe environment for the other children OR staff, we reserve the rights to terminate them from the program. Unsafe behavior would include: Throwing objects, spitting, hitting, biting, kicking, swearing, running out of the room or church, or showing aggressive behaviors.
All children coming to us also must be fully potty trained. This means they do ]hands. We will help your children to the bathroom, but they should be able to assist themselves. However, should a child have three or more accidents in a two-week period, unrelated to an illness, we would consider that the child is not toilet-trained and will need to withdraw from the program.
