May 25th Declared Lou Pleva day by Mayor Berger

Today, Mayor Berger attended our all school mass and declared May 25th, Mrs. Lou Pleva day in honor of her dedication to education.

After 38 years of faithful service to our school our beloved teacher, Mrs. Lou Pleva, is setting her sights on a well-deserved retirement.  Mrs. Pleva began working at St. Charles in 1980 and has served as a 2nd grade teacher throughout her time here. The entire school community benefited from Mrs. Pleva’s leadership and passion for both teaching and learning.  Hundreds of students’ lives were touched as she helped them prepare for their 1st Communion. All of us will miss Mrs. Pleva and will never forget her contributions to our school.

Mayor Berger was very complimentary of the work Mrs. Pleva has done over the past 38 years. "Mrs. Pleva has a quiet, confident manner.  She is attuned to the special needs of each child and communicates well with parents.  She is conscientious about her responsibilities, accepting them and then volunteering for extra tasks.  She is a leader in the school, having served on many different committees during her time here at St. Charles. Mrs. Pleva has also volunteered on numerous committees that has served our parish.  During her time here at St. Charles she was responsible for preparing hundreds of students for their 1st Communion."

Please join us in wishing Mrs. Pleva all the best in her retirement!
