Golden Apple

The Golden Apple Award 2019 nomination process is now under way.  Through the generosity and kindness of the Jack and Rhodora Donahue Family Foundation of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the Golden Apple Award has been established to honor outstanding individuals who devote their lives to teaching in Catholic schools. This awards program has been expanded from the Diocese of Pittsburgh to include the Diocese of Toledo. The 2018-19 school year marks the fourteenth consecutive year that this prestigious award has been presented in the Diocese of Toledo.

To be eligible, the teacher needs to be a practicing Catholic, teaching at the current school for a full three years and be nominated by a parent, student (with a parent if student is elementary age) or a colleague. Nominations are due to the school principal by February 1st.  The nomination form can be found on the school website in the documents section or in the school office.  Awards are given to seven (7) preschool and/or elementary school teachers and two (2) secondary teachers each year. The award winners receive $5000 cash, a golden apple with 24 carat gold cross, and a banquet with the Bishop.  Please consider nominating one of our fantastic St. Charles teachers.
